A course that sends help the moment a learner gets stuck
An online course platform could watch how each learner is doing and send a short explanation, an example or a practice item at the point where that learner struggles, instead of sending everyone through the same lessons.
Why the patent was made
Claim: hypothesis
The patent was written because training usually arrives as a course, away from the work, and much of it is forgotten before it is used. It describes sending small blocks of content to a person while they do a task, chosen for that person and that task. A course platform is the most direct place to try that idea, because it already knows what each learner has done and where they slowed down.
What would show this claim is wrong
- Learners who get blocks at the point of difficulty doing no better on the next assessment than learners who get the standard lesson would show this wrong.
What could be built and who would pay
Claim: hypothesis
A course platform, or the training team of a company that runs its own courses, could add a feature that notices a wrong answer, a long pause or a skipped section and sends one short block that targets that gap. The buyer is the platform's owner, who sells better completion and pass rates to schools and employers.
What would show this claim is wrong
- Platform owners who see the feature and say completion and pass rates are not what their buyers pay for would show this wrong.
A first step
Claim: hypothesis
Take one course with a known hard module. For half the learners, send a short block when they miss a question in that module; leave the other half as they are. Compare how many in each half pass the module the first time.
What would show this claim is wrong
- No difference between the two halves after a few hundred learners would show the first step does not pay off.
