The companion skills
Each skill runs a step of the method up to the judgment and leaves the judgment to the person who owns the decision. Remove names, prices, and confidential terms before you give anything to an AI tool, and use only tools your organization approves.
| Skill | What it does |
|---|---|
The claim-testing skill |
Fills a Claim Card, places evidence on the Cost-to-Seller Ladder, runs the Three Tests, and says whether the claim counts, counts only after named evidence is added, or does not count. |
The proposal-screening skill |
Reads a proposal, flags the Eight Look-Alikes, drafts Costly Questions, and ranks the claims worth testing. |
The proof-plan and terms skill |
Drafts Proof Plans, Fail Conditions, Failable Pilot terms, and a term sheet for counsel. It drafts and reconciles and makes no judgment. |
The pre-signing check skill |
Checks a pending purchase against the seven requirements and says ready, ready only with named changes, or not ready. |
The post-purchase review skill |
Compares measured results with each Claim Card, looks for evidence drift, organizes the Exit Rehearsal, and says whether each claim holds, holds in part, or missed, and at renewal which of the four renewal decisions the evidence supports. |
Six skills from other books also apply: the Decision and Tradeoff Ledger for the build, buy, or generate argument; the False-Alpha Hearing at renewal; the Sustainment Tail Test and the Integrator Sort for defense purchases; No Connectivity, No Purchase for device purchases; and the Freedom-to-Operate Screen for depending on a supplier.
