What's new

Zero-Bureaucracy Product and Project Management

What's new for readers who have already read the book, newest first.

The prompts and record schemas are now on the online companion

You can now copy the book’s two working appendices straight from a screen at intellectualfrontiers.com. The Prompt Library holds thirteen prompts for an AI Chief of Staff, from the project state audit and scope drift audit to the weekly review, meeting classification, and the work authorization gate. The Minimal Artifact Schemas give nine small record formats, from a decision and an observation to a weekly plan and an incident timeline, so the Chief of Staff can reconcile one record against another. Each prompt and schema sits in its own code block, so it pastes whole. Both appendices are still printed in the book, word for word.

New book: Zero-Bureaucracy Product and Project Management

AI made building cheap, but most project management still assumes it is expensive. A team can now build the wrong feature fast and well, and turn a passing thought from an executive into working software before anyone decides anything. This fieldbook lays out an operating model for AI-native projects, where a few senior humans, often one primary engineer, work with an AI Chief of Staff and a small Business Operations site (BZO) instead of heavyweight process. The AI remembers, reconciles, audits, drafts, questions and escalates. Humans judge, decide, accept, reject and take responsibility. You learn to build and run a persistent AI Chief of Staff, to tell an observation from a hypothesis and a hypothesis from a requirement, to trace every piece of work to an approved reason for existing, and to run meetings, weekly plans and audits with far less process. The last chapter covers four events that push a small team back toward old process. Nine chapters.
