Companion to Surviving Scientific Review
The PI checklist and the skill catalog
Companion to Surviving Scientific Review · Updated 2026-09-30
Surviving Scientific Review prints two reference tools in its appendices. Here they are as screen copies: the checklist as a task list you can copy into your project notes, and the skill catalog as a table you can search.
Nothing here replaces the book. The checklist compresses the method the chapters teach, and the catalog names the skills an Award Intelligence AI Workforce would need.
Choose Your Tool
- You are preparing an application. Use the checklist to spot-audit a project before you write, before you submit, and after the review.
- You lead a department or research office, or build tools. Read the skill catalog to see which parts of the work an AI skill can do and what each one must show.
In this section
- Thirty-Seven Questions Spot-Audit a Project Already in Motion
The PI Award-Intelligence Checklist from Surviving Scientific Review as a task list: seven groups of questions, from deciding to write through the review that follows.
- Twenty-One Skills Make Award Intelligence Work Inspectable
The Labor as Code Skill Catalog from Surviving Scientific Review: twenty-one skills for an Award Intelligence AI Workforce, each with what it does.
